Under 8 Free GP Care Scheme

Our practice is glad to participate in the HSE Under 8 Free GP care scheme. Please note that while all children ordinarily resident in Ireland are entitled to free GP Care, it can only be availed of by those who have signed up with, and have been accepted by, a participating GP. If you wish your child to avail of free GP care at our surgery, you must register your child with us.

How to I register my child?

If your child is aged 6 or under and has a valid GP visit card registered with our practice, the HSE will automatically extend  the card until your child’s eighth birthday. If your child is aged 6 or 7, you will need to reapply for a new GP visit card.

Simply log onto www.gpvisitcard.ie

Do I get a GP Visit Card for my child or children?
Yes, once the registration of your child or children is complete a GP Visit Card for children under 8, will be posted, to the address provided, for each eligible child. You must bring this card to each GP visit.
