From July 1st 2024, the following contraceptive services will be FREE for all women aged from 17 to 35 years inclusive and for women of all ages who have a valid medical or GP visit card. Termination of pregnancy services are also FREE for all women of all ages.
-oral contraception (the pill and mini-pill) emergency contraception.(the morning-after pill) the IUD (coil), Implanon (contraceptive bar) and medical termination of pregnancy.. You do not need to have a medical card or GP visit card to access these free services.

Cervical Smear
Our Practice is registered with the Cervical Check Programme. This programme entitles all women between the age of 25 -60 to free cervical smears every few years. You will need to bring your cervical check invitation letter with you to avail of the free smear. When telephoning for an appointment, please advise reception that you are booking for a smear test.
You are welcome to have a chaperone for your smear test-if you advise reception when booking, we will be glad to facilitate you.
Please note that if you wish to discuss any other matters you will incur the normal consultation fee. Please advise at reception when booking.
